Greenwood Lake Wind Feasibility Study

Through a NY State grant awarded to the Village of Greenwood Lake, Green Energy Act installed on October 2009 four weather stations, including anemometers, to collect data related to wind speed throughout the village. The study is expected to take 6-8 months. Data collected will be analyzed by Green Energy Act and recommendations will be made to the village regarding size and location of wind turbines. Wind turbines, once installed, will help offset the village utility bills in places such as village hall and the water treatment plant.

We will post periodical updates to this page related to the project’s progress.

The slideshow on this page shows photos from the weather stations installations.
